They’re all good. I smile knowing the courage it takes to make public (even to a small audience of one), something as personal as one’s artwork…one’s poetry…one’s soul. Within the first year of meeting the person with whom I now a home, I trusted the intention behind my artwork enough to show a piece to him. His response? He laughed and told me that I shouldn’t give up my day job. I have never been so brave again…nor, have I picked up a paint brush since then, which bothers me more than the thoughtless comment…because I know better. Not everyone will always “get” it … some will appreciate your art more than others. Only people who have never been in touch with the creativity we all possess will make crude, hurtful remarks. Well, then…thanks for letting me share that (not that you had a choice in the matter)…I guess non-constuctive criticism is painful…even still. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the world through the eyes of Renee.
crude was not the right word…insensitive is the word. When you visit, maybe I will share my folkart kitty with you. Please, if you don’t like it, don’t tell me not to quit my day job.

“whom I now share a home” … left out a word, as usual.
